Hiking in Sedona ~ Hangover Trail ~ October 29, 2019

Steve & I decided to hike the Hangover trail in Sedona.  It is one of many favorite hikes we like to do when we are in Cottonwood and Sedona.  We park at the Huckaby parking lot and hike from there and do a "lollypop" loop.  We love the scenery, the red rocks, the blue sky and the sunshine.  "Crazy" mountain bike riders are known to ride this trail.  We did see a few of them on this hike.  There are parts of this trail that are steep, skinny, drop offs, etc.  I think it is a pretty hard hike.  I would never, ever try to ride a bike on it.

After our hike, we went to the Oak Creek Brewery (not the restaurant) and sat outside and enjoyed a beer.

Today was our last day in Cottonwood.  We loved our stay at Dead Horse Ranch State Park We will be back next Fall.

Cottonwood and Sedona ~ October 22-30, 2019

I decided to update my blog today.  What a beautiful place to be, typing on my laptop.  We arrived at Dead Horse Ranch State Park on Tuesday, October 22nd.  Since we had been at the Grand Canyon for two weeks with little or no WiFi, I wasn't really able to update the blog.  When we were at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, staying at Mather Campground, we found out that if we went to the Grand Canyon Community Library, we could get on their WiFi and post pictures to Facebook, make phone calls and send and receive texts.  That was a nice discovery!

We are in Site #56 at Dead Horse.  We think it is our favorite site in the campground.  We use the campground as "home base" and then spend most days hiking.  Steve loves the mountain bike trails here, too, so he gets to ride as much as he wants.

When we owned a house in Cottonwood, we became friends with many of our neighbors in Cottonwood Ranch, so it is always fun to be back here to visit our "old" friends.
